About William Chavez

William Chavez, a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland, College Park. William also holds a Certificate in U.S. Latina/o Studies from the Department of American Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park.
William has professional experience as a Law Clerk in civil rights anti-discrimination law, employment law, and immigration law. During his time as a student of the Washington College of Law, William was awarded Premio Inspiración for his exceptional commitment to the Latina/o community nationally or internationally at the 22nd Annual Hispanic Law Conference hosted by the Hispanic Bar Association of the District of Columbia. William also received three Notices of Superior Work as a staffer on the Administrative Law Review.
William currently serves on the Center's Board of Directors as the Secretary.
