Bethany Callahan

Bethany Callahan holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and a B.S. in Communication from the University of Miami, with a concentration in visual journalism. She is licensed to practice law in every Maryland state circuit and district court, the federal U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, as well as in the District of Columbia Superior Court and Court of Appeals.

Beth’s legal career is rooted in public service and the firm belief that quality representation should be accessible to all. Prior to joining the Employment Law Center for Maryland (ELC) as a civil rights and employment attorney, Bethany served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Laura S. Ripken of the Appellate Court of Maryland. During her time as a law student, Bethany was the Executive Editor of the American University Law Review and a member of the Equal Justice Foundation. She served as a law clerk at the Office of the Public Defender for Maryland, the Public Defender Service for D.C., and RaquinMercer LLC, where she assisted the firm in their post-conviction pro bono caseload.

Beth lives in D.C. with her husband, Max, and their rescue pup, Nolan, who is a very, very good boy.
