Alysa's legal career began in the civil rights field, and she continued to advocate for underrepresented communities and combat discrimination through her work in public service and employment law. Prior to joining the Employment Law Center of Maryland, Alysa represented federal employees before administrative bodies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Merit System Protection Board (MSPB) on labor and employment matters, focusing on EEO complaints, Title VII discrimination claims, whistleblower retaliation, and defending against proposed disciplinary and adverse actions. She also has experience representing federal agencies in similar matters, giving her valuable insight into how employers litigate and defend against employment claims. Alysa now represents all types of Maryland employees who have experienced workplace harassment, discrimination, wage theft, or wrongful termination.
Alysa lives in Urbana, Maryland with her wife and son. In her free time, Alysa enjoys crafting, baking, cheering for the Washington Commanders, and walking her dog. She also enjoys mentoring the next generation of legal professionals and works as an adjunct professor in the paralegal program at Frederick Community College.
