Appointment Terms and Conditions

The purpose of a consultation, case evaluation, or severance review (each an "Appointment") at the Employment Law Center of Maryland is for us (a) to learn about you and your particular legal needs based on the information you provide; (b) to answer your questions to the best of our ability; (c) to identify your options and, to the extent possible, analyze the costs and benefits of those alternatives; (d) to help you determine your course of action, if any; (e) to discuss our fees and terms of representation if an attorney-client relationship is to be established after the meeting; and (f) to determine the next steps in the process, as appropriate. By booking an Appointment at the Employment Law Center of Maryland, you acknowledge and agree that:

  1. Booking an Appointment does not create an attorney-client relationship.

  2. All information and documents that you provide to us for or during an Appointment shall remain strictly confidential, whether or not you decide to retain us to provide legal services, except as authorized by you or otherwise provided under the Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct.

  3. Because it may be impossible to fully assess a matter within the time frame allotted for an Appointment or with the information or documents that you have provided, and as an attorney-client relationship has not yet formed, you should not rely upon any legal opinions provided by us during an Appointment concerning any legal matter.

  4. At the conclusion of an Appointment, there is no obligation for you to retain us, nor do we have an obligation to provide services to you, unless mutually agreed.

  5. You are not entitled to a refund of any fees paid for an Appointment unless your Appointment is cancelled by the Employment Law Center of Maryland.

  6. You are entitled to reschedule your appointment once; however, you must provide at least twenty-four (24) hours' notice. Requests to reschedule with less than twenty-four (24) hours' notice will not be granted.

By booking an Appointment at the Employment Law Center of Maryland, you agree that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
